How else to relaunch my new and improved blog but to do a fashion post as inspired by the newest Girl of the Year character, Saige.
Let me say that Saige and her collection have fully captivated my heart, especially her wardrobe.

The doll is drop dead gorgeous: she has light skin with long, wavy, auburn hair, dark blue eyes, and freckles. She comes in a rich, royal blue short sleeved dress with a tiered skirt and the most adorable, colorful, New Mexican print belt. The dress is complemented by knee-high brown "leather" boots with leather lacing as well as a sparkling turquoise ring. Another bonus is that Saige comes with her ears already pierced with cute flower shaped earrings. American Girl did an excellent job with her meet outfit, I must say. It's very artsy and trendy: bright, jewel colors, leather knee-high boots, Navajo print, turquoise and ethnic beads (as seen in her accessories set; more on that later) have all been in style for the past few seasons.

My fashion style changes like a chameleon; it all depends on how I feel in the morning. That is why I enjoy shopping at thrift shops and wherever I can get the best deal; you don't want to splurge on an item that you won't wear continually. Forever 21 is one of my favorite places to shop, as they are always on top of the latest trends, their clothing can be mixed and matched to suit my ever-changing style, and most importantly, their prices are wallet friendly.
This outfit, inspired by Saige's meet outfit, is very bold and artsy. I chose a form fitting royal blue sweater dress, which in addition to the brown, braided, leather belt will show off my almost non-existent curves. Just like in New Mexico, the weather here in Alabama can be mild when it wants to, but it can get chilly at times. I toughen up the look with a faux leather jacket. Finally, we get to the part that makes the outfit: the accessories. Vintage jewelry and handbags are an easy, inexpensive find at the thrift and vintage stores. The peacock feather earrings and bold, multicolored print wedges complete the look, with hints of royal blue complementing the dress.
I will be doing posts in the future on the rest of Saige's wardrobe, as well as outfits inspired by the historical and modern lines. Would you rock this look? What would you do to better modify this look to fit your own style? And are you excited about Saige? Let me know by commenting below! I truly hope that you enjoyed reading this post, as I have enjoyed putting it together.
